Which Motor Insurance Policy Would Best Suit Your Personal Circumstances?
By Rochelle Martinez
The law states that people must drive with third party cover at the very minimum and those caught without any valid policy and driving their vehicle in a public place can face a hefty fine or prosecution.

Third party motor will cover drivers for injury or loss that other motorists endure because of the policyholders driving. This is the cheapest policy on offer and because of this fact, cover people for the least amount of incidents.

For people who are not prolific drivers but still wish to insure their vehicle, they might choose third party, fire and theft cover which allows the driver to claim for loss or damage to their car due to a fire or theft of the vehicle. This is a popular cover policy for businesses too, that have a fleet of vehicles locked up in one place overnight.

One of the more expensive options is to extend a premium to comprehensive cover, but this offers a wide-ranging policy. This cover option offers all the cover a third party or third party, fire and theft policy offers, but also covers the vehicle owner for damage no matter who was to blame for

it.

Due to comprehensive cover being the more expensive policy, there are a number of benefits that are included in the price including ones such as glass or windscreen cover should the vehicle suffer vandalism and cover for spoilt or stolen personal belongings that have been locked away inside the vehicle or in the boot.

A good way to make sure people have the correct cover in place for their individual requirements, is to shop around or even change provider which could also save you huge amounts of money when signing up for a better deal.

Recent figures released by the Financial Regulator reveal the saving there are to be made when they carried out a cost comparison survey.

A male driver aged 19 years old, looking for a quote for comprehensive cover for his 2002 Opel Corsa, would see a staggering difference of €1,816 between the most expensive quote and the cheapest premium on offer.

They also showed that a 38 year-old female driver of a 2006 Volkswagen Touran, looking for comprehensive cover, could make a saving of €445 if she shopped around for the best-priced deal.
